| ok, well, my raps have made a big improvement. what do i mean by improvement? i mean that there was time where i'd go around askin questions like "what rhymes with heart other than apart?" and i used weak rhymes. any example of my past work is would be like "yall tryna mess wit me?// man, i am the best to be,// everybody else tryna start sum beef,// actin like they spongebob on a coral reef//"... now, it'd be more like "u cant mess wit da best man,// so i guess u confessed man,// that ur lines r completely hideous,// man my gludius and ya face look betta than this//" and that was just written straight from my head... anyway, there is a difference and i'd tell u how, but i'll save that for the tips section. this section is for telling my history in rap. anyway, i started when i was 10. back then, i was weak as ever. i couldnt freestyle 2 lines if i wanted to and the only reason i thought i could rap is cuz i could rap sum1 elses music... then i realized that rappers have to make their own music. so, i started writing. one of my lyrics from that time, from a song i made, 3 lines of it said "i dont know what to do,// its so hard to even face you,// but it seems i don't have a clue//"... seriously, did i think i could get in the game with those lines? by age 11, i had made no progress AT ALL. as a matter of fact, i actually tried to go into singing... my voice only allows me to sing bass and if i cant hit notes that others cant, how could i become a singer? age 12, well, this is when i made a little improvement... me, my sisters, and my cousins were startin a group called the shining stars... the members were me, torrey, marcus, questina, tiffany, and christina, all of which are now part of my bolt of fire record label. i, sean "livewire" smith, was shooting star, marcus "inferno" scott was movie star, torrey "xplojin" scott was superstar, questina "QT" johnson was twinkling star (i think), tiffany "luscious" scott was shining star, and christina "huntress" johnson was little star or something, i'm not sure. well, luscious and QT were lead singers, inferno and huntress were accompanying singers, and me and xplojin were rappers. we never made 1 song because firstly, we were forced to let huntress join (which we were very reluctant to do considering the extreme lack of skill), and then we got into a lotta arguments bcuz tiffany wanted to be lead singer, and QT sang btr than luscious but didnt mind, but inferno did bcuz he sang btr than luscious... that same day we got into a lotta arguments about me and xplojin not being able to rap, and luscious and QT tried to make a song and it was horrible... then we all broke up into smaller groups... me and inferno became the 12-pointed star and QT and luscious became 2G for 2 girls... xplojin and huntress didnt do anything though... well, age 13, me and inferno became the bolt of fire which is where the current record label's name came from, and we gained our current names. i rapped, he sang. it seemed good, 1 singer, 1 rapper, both are guys so its easier to make songs about women. i wrote 15 songs and 5 skits for a cd and they sounded good so i started making beats... they were TERRIBLE but at the time we thought they were good. so i started makin more and waited for a mic so i could record. i continually pestered inferno about writin his own songs... he didnt but he tried... we both thought it was hard to write songs... age 14 i started rappin a little btr, but it was still bad... i didnt know it tho... this is when me and inferno made a lotta plans for gettin into the game... we didnt do nething tho cuz we still hadnt done any recording... then xplojin came to my house once and we decided to make a rap group so i wouldnt have to keep writin lyrics for singing... he was thereby known as xplojin and we had a few songs... all he did was make it so i wouldnt have to write as much rap... i was lazy... me and xplojin were going to make a cd called LX and the second cd would be me and inferno as bolt of fire. age 15, i decided to make the bolt of fire known as LXI, livewire, xplojin, and inferno. as for 2G, they were writing songs, they had 2 at the time. then, we made a plan. we decided that i was going to make a record label known as bolt of fire records. i became a LOT btr at beats, still using the same materials too. i became the leader of the label, in addition to one of its artists and the producer of every other artist. i was a good rapper after listening to eminem's verse in "hellbound" by d12 on eminem's first album, infinite. it was really inspirational. well, then i started wrting lyrics for singers and it was like rapping to me, just slower. age 16, this is now. i decided that the first album would be a compilation album of the whole label to reduce work and gain exposure for the whole label. so far i have 5 songs on my own (as of 7/1/03), QT has 1 song of her own, i've produced a beat and lyrics for luscious and her recording session is pending, and huntress has been given a beat but she doesnt know if she wants to rap or sing, and shes not that good at either but my ma is makin me let her sing. xplojin is a good freestyler, better than me sometimes, but he cant write as good as me. so now, we are taking step by step to get into the game. look out, the bolt of fire will be strikin soon :) |
